Let me tell you about my day... {Stanlee's words}

Today, mom woke up at 6 a.m. with dad to see him off before work.  6 a.m.  I can't tell you the last time we woke up at that early.  I am actually a morning dog, but let me tell you what, it's dark at 6 a.m. and it's cold and wet.  My morning bathroom routine was just not normal.

This afternoon we went for a long walk outside on this gorgeous day.  It was lovely.  The wind was blowing through my ear, the sun was warm and I sniffed several new smells.  How did I not know this walk was her way of doing something nice for me before I went to the awful horrible place I hate to mention...the vet.  Yes folks, I went to the vet today.  They shined bright lights, poke around and even gave me two shots.  At least all the ladies at the vet love me and tell me how perfect and handsome I am.  That's a true story.  I wonder what mom has in store for us tomorrow.  I see suitcases out of the closets.  I am a little concerned....

Miley turns 4

Miley is now 4 years old! Oh my, she is growing up way too fast.  Miley is a beautiful, sassy and hilarious red boston terrier.  She has a lovely coat and perfect white markings.  She is lovable yet a little crazy.  She is also famous in the little blue feather shop!   {sigh}  I just can't get enough of her...

I remember the first day we got Miley.  Justin found her at a pet store in Columbus while he was waiting for me to get off of work.  The whole night he talked about her and how perfect she was so the next morning we were outside the doors waiting for the store to open so I could meet her.  She was beautiful, but I was very hesitant...then I held her.  I wonder if she knew deep down that if she snuggled with me and fell asleep in my arms that I would have to give in to her; and of course, I did.  I can't imagine life without her.

January 1, 2008 we became her proud parents :)

When I was in Columbus last week, I stopped by Three Dog Bakery and picked up some fun treats including a wheat free limited ingredient pupcake (our dogs have food allergies) to help us celebrate her birthday.

This looks so yummy.  If I didn't know any better, I would eat it thinking it was a real cupcake!

pupcakes and playtime at the park can really tire you out!

Happy Birthday Miley Jo :)

Life as a spoiled boston terrier in the Sharkey household

January 1, 2008 I became a proud parent to a little red boston terrier.  Since then, I have completely fallen in love with this breed.  I have turned into one of those dog people and find them absolutely hilarious.  My husband and I love to make voices for them and pretend we know what they are thinking.  {This is normal right? ;)}

So with that being said, here are their introductions:

Hi.  My name is Miley Jo.  I am an adorable red boston terrier, and I use my ridiculously good looks to get just about anything I want.  My parents use words like sassy, beautiful, tubs and princess to describe me.  My middle name is Jo, but recently its been Joseph because sometimes I am a little tom boy.  I run this house...

My name is Stanlee.  I am the most unique looking boston terrier you will ever see and I feel so lucky to be adopted into this loving and sometimes chaotic household.  I like to stand tall, model, love on my momma and hide from all weird noises and large dogs.  I like argyle, stripes and plaid.  I have been, and will always be, a little bit anxious but with the help of my family, I am working on overcoming my fears.  It's a great pleasure to meet you.

Now that we all know each other, let me introduce the purpose of Shark Pups.  Currently, I have a blog called Little Blue Feather that I share what life is like behind my handmade designs.  Recently it has felt a little misplaced to share all of my boston terrier love on that site, so I created a second blog, devoted entirely to our pups and their friends. On this blog you will find lots of pet photography, handmade dog products, videos, stories and get an insight of what life is like as a boston terrier.

Thanks for visiting!
